Honest Conversations

Helping You Reach Out…

…for what isn’t easy.

Life gives us opportunities to grow and meet our potential.

But when it’s a door we haven’t been through before, it can be very scary.

So take a moment now to check in and ask yourself if you’d like to

▪  stay, exactly where you are
▪  go back to where it’s comfortable
▪  push through your limits, create new boundaries, make new friends, discover new adventures and grow shiny muscles.

Then choose,

What will make your heart jump,
What will help your light shine even brighter

and, help you stand proud, tall and strong.

We’re in this journey together, you and I.

Let’s keep each other moving forward!

Sometimes we forget…

…to tell others how we feel

▪ to ask for what we need
▪ to remember to care
▪ the importance of creating space
▪ the feeling of freedom
▪ to nourish ourself
▪ that sleep could be the answer
▪ to give thanks

▪ to ask for help
▪ the importance of taking a break

But life gently reminds us, that living is important, breathing is a must, sleeping is necessary, stopping to rest is healthy, giving thanks brings even more, caring reflects it back on us and, asking for help can serve another.

Self reflection:

What have you forgotten about that you need most right now?

What can you do to manifest it in your life?

Who could you turn to to get the help you need?

Jet Lagged…

PICT - Peppermint

…and feeling like my heart and emotions are in a couple of other places:)

I’ve just returned from visiting family abroad this past week and have been working on moving through jet lag and getting back into the groove.

It hasn’t been easy, because while my body is present here, my mind, heart and emotions seem to be connected to other far away places.

So, to help me boost my memory and stimulate my senses I turned to a familiar friend – Peppermint.  I’ve been using a drop of the essence in my green tea at least twice a day.  In addition, I’ve allowed myself to take it a little easier than usual so that I can come back more gently.

Aromatherapy is one of the best friends I use to help me move gently and effectively through any experience where I need mental, emotional or physical support.

If you know anyone or need help yourself with something emotional or physical that’s been a little trying recently, consider using Aromatherapy to help make the journey a little easier.  Learn more:Get Well With Aromatherapy

Life is…

…consciousness.

All life has consciousness.

Remember that as you eat your next meal be it of a fruit, vegetable, but more especially, of an animal.

Remember to give thanks for the life that was once alive, then served its purpose.  That life will become a part of you.

Allow, the consciousness of that life to make a connection to yours, to your life as it will allow you to serve in your purpose.

A thought –

When you begin to connect to the consciousness of life all around you, you become stronger and more resilient.  You live life feeling connected and supported, as well as uplifted when you need it.

Reflection:

How much have you been feeling connected to life lately?

Has anything been missing?

Do you know…

PICT - Gingko leaves

…how to listen?

In a recent conversation with an individual they related something a physician had done to them that went against the intelligence of their body. Their body in response, protested.

I asked them how they FELT about the physician’s action. They told me instead what they THOUGHT.

The work I do teaches individuals to get in touch with their feelings and to trust the innate intelligence in their body.  The body knows – so very deeply what is right for it, and what isn’t.  All we have to do is listen.

How good can you say you’ve been at listening?

“Alive Inside”

A gift of hope, of survival, of connection, of meaning, of compassion, of a dream from the heart and soul of Dan Cohen, MSW.

“Music gives us something we hunger deeply for, something we have pursued for thousands of years, we wired our very brains for.
We need music.

It awakens in us our most profound safety, the safety of living in concert with each other and our own selves.

And that is why together we’re going to do this one small kindness. We’re going to bring life into the places where it has been forgotten and
together we will listen.”

Transitions: 3 Simple Steps to Conquer Them With Ease

Transitions can be scary, whether they are in the form of relationship changes, a career change, or an age related transition.

Here are 3 simple tips to help you conquer them with grace and ease.

1.  Embrace (Take Action)

Even while the transition is imminent, it can prove to be less stressful if you consciously choose to embrace it and welcome it as part of your journey.  Opening the door to change will allow you to move and flow through the unexpected twists and turns with far less energy and emotion than you might otherwise have put out.

Taking ACTION is the bigger half of embracing imminent change or transition, and taking massive action, can become the difference in creating de-stressing and energy enhancing movements of FLOW, rather than those of Fight or Flight.

2.  Be Grateful (Acceptance)

When your choices are to adjust or to ignore, choose the key that will keep the open the door to opportunity and grace.  Being grateful for what is present is an act of faith that one is always being taken care of.

If you choose to accept the belief that EVERYTHING has been set up to assist you in achieving your dream, goal, wish or desire, you’ll recognize change as an opportunity to redefine, rediscover and reinvent yourself.

A faith quote reminder:

You don’t always have to know why; you just need to follow the signs  😉

3.  Focus (Support)

While change an transition can create a bigger demand for your attention, emotion and energy, continually keeping sight of your priorities as your bottom line will help you to use your energy and time more efficiently.

Additionally, it is important to surround yourself with adequate support wherever you need it.  This also implies reaching out and asking for it, which can then go a long way, in ensuring that your attention and energy are invested exactly where they are needed.

What tips can YOU share that help create greater ease (for you) during periods of transition or significant change?

Therapeutic Bodywork for Your Pet

Did you know that your pet can benefit as much from the bodywork that I offer as you can? Pets love to be lavished with love and attention, so I find that they are often even more receptive than people.

I have found my work to be effective for both dogs and cats, suffering with the ailments of aging such as hip pain and arthritis all the way through young puppies and kittens who can be simply adjusting to their new home.

Therapeutic bodywork can help with any anxiety issues hat your pet has as well as with behavioral issues and immune system weaknesses. Natural cortisone is released which helps relieve joint swelling and other inflammation in your dog or cat’s body.

The most important factor is to find a therapist that both you and your pet feel comfortable with.

Are you wondering if your pet would benefit from my work?
